This year, we have chosen to explore the theme of Surfaces in order to provide students with stimulus material for their own investigations.
The following document details the first half-term of study following on from the initial work carried out over the summer holidays.
The first term is divided into two main areas. The first focuses on students developing their understanding of different techniques and processes within the field whilst researching and forming critical/contextual links to both traditional and contemporary photographic practice. This is then applied with students creating their own photographic imagery. The second part of term one enables students to develop their own ideas with the acquired technical and critical skills.
Below shows a clear structure for students to use when developing their ideas leading towards the creation of a final piece(s).
Unit 2: Externally Set Assignment
The primary aim of this unit is for students to develop their own ideas.
Students are provided with an externally set examination paper containing a title/theme around the 1st February.
Sketchbooks, workbooks, journals and/or digital websites alongside mounted sheets or study sheets may be used. When appropriate sources should be identified and acknowledged.
